Sandeep Patnaik scored a stroke-filled 117 to help Odisha draw their East Zone Vijay Merchant Trophy (U-16) cricket match against Jharkhand at Bokaro today. In reply to Jharkhand’s first innings total of 400 for nine declared, Odisha were 300 for six at the close of last day’s play. Teams got one point each as the first innings of both the sides could not be completed in the three-day match.
Sandeep faced hit 22 boundaries in his 283-ball knock and stitched together 142 runs for the third-wicket stand with Dibyajyoti Pradhan, who cracked 61 with the help of eight hits to the fence. Earlier, Odisha skipper Subham Nayak bagged three wickets in the Jharkhand innings. Odisha would next meet Assam at Hailkandi from December 7 to 9.
